  • In addition, TCO is lower when administrative staff or licensing of needed software is included in the costs. One Systems Administrator on an IBM i, does the cast of many on other systems. The IBM i Systems Administrator is also the Systems Programmer, DBA, Security Officer, Contingency Planner, Capacity Planner and Technical Support escalation. Duties can be segregated, but because the system is designed to be a business system, it does not require as much regular tweaking as other systems.
