PASSION; 5 [part two]

"So where did you live before you moved to Belleville?" Nick asked and took a sip of his cold lemonaide.

"Cherry Blossom Hill, Texas." I smiled, proud of my hometown. "Its a small city near Dallas. I lived there my whole life, even in college I had to live at home since I couldn't afford a decent dorm room." I laughed.

He chuckled. "How old are you anyway...I mean no offense, you don't have to tell me--" He started to blab on and on trying not to offend me.

I giggled and put my hand over his to stop his talking. "I'm 23, and just graduated from college with a teaching degree. As soon as school was over, I wanted to be free and live my own life. So now I live thousands and thousands of miles away from my family. But I have to admit, I do miss them all terribly." I sighed and turned to Nick. "Your turn."

"Well I'm 25, and grew up in the same house for my whole life. Then I moved when I was old enough. But then I got news that my whole family was on their way to see me, since i used to never really visit them. But they all got into a big car accident. My parents died...and well my brother Joe was paralyzed, and he has a whole bunch of health problems." He kept his head hung, and bit his bottom lip, revling in the memories.

"Oh my God, Nick." I put my hand over his, trying to comfort him. "When was this?"

"Last year." He mumbled quietly. I had to strain to hear that.

My hands flew to my mouth, and i covered it in shock. "Oh no, Nick I'm so terribly sorry." I got up and hugged him. I could feel his muscles bulging out of his white v-neck, and couldn't help but blush.

I pulled away and sat back down in my seat. "So how is your brother..Joe then now?"

Nick looked down to his lap again, playing around with his hands. "I live with him actually. Since he's paralyzed and has health problems, I have to be with him a lot, and watch over him....I feel like its my duty since I'm the reason why my parents died and Joe's like that."

"Nick!" I gasped. "Don't ever think like that. Its not your fault that your parents died, and its not your fault about Joe! It was an accident. You shouldn't blame yourself."

"It was my fault because I never visited them. If I had, then they would have never gotten into that car." He curled his hands into tight balls of fists.

"Nick." I said calmly and took his hand in mine. "Its not your fault okay? It was an accident. No one was to blame."

Nick took a deep breath, and sighed out all of his frustrations. He relaxed his tight grip in his hands, and A minute later he looked up at me, with a the slightest smile on his face. "Thank you Selena. I haven't told anyone this before, and I've been holding all of this in since the accident."

I nodded my head. "No problem, of course." Then a thought occured to me. "Hey so um Nick?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I meet your brother?"
