@kingmafi6699: Closeness to Africa doesn't necessarily reflect the age of a civilization. Different areas of the world develop at different paces, depending on climate, wars, natural resources, trade, etc.

For example, even though Western Europe is much closer to Africa than South America, one could argue that the Classic-era Mayans were much more civilized than the ancient Britons (predecessors of the British) during the same era.

P.S. Egypt isn't "Close to Africa" it's IN Africa.
