Australia Seeking to Ban Whale Hunting

Where is the justice? Kangaroo slaughter against whale hunting.

Australia, in common with many other observers, remains unconvinced by Japans justification for whaling. Japan currently exploits a loophole in IWC rules that allow it to carry out its annual whale hunt as a scientific exercise. The discussions between the Japanese and Australian foreign ministers follow several months of bitter acrimony on the high seas, as anti-whaling protesters have harried the Japanese fleet and been met with fierce physical resistance. In one clash a vessel owned by the US-based Sea Shepherd activist group was sunk after a collision with one of the ships in the Japanese fleet. On the other hand, Australia is also being accused on slaughter of the kangaroos.

インターナショナル・ヘラルド・トリビューンは、オーストラリアのラッド首相が、調査捕鯨をやめなければ日本を国際司法裁判所に提訴すると発言したことを、厳しく非難した­コラムを掲載した。コラムは、豪州の反捕鯨運動を、科学的ではなく感情的な「十字軍」だとし、「日本の捕鯨船を悩ましている豪州、ニュージーランド人活動家（シー・シェパ­ード）らに与えられた英雄的地位にも、それがみられる」と述べている。そのうえで、ノルウェーが国際捕鯨委員会（ＩＷＣ）の規制を拒否、アイスランドがいったんは脱退し、­カナダは脱退後、復帰していないのに対し、日本は少なくともＩＷＣに属していると日本にも理解を示し、ラッド発言は捕鯨諸国にＩＷＣに協力する気をなくさせるものだとした­。さらに、「鯨に銛（もり）を打ち込むことは、牛や羊の肉を常食としている者の間にさえ感情をかき立てるのかもしれないが、豪州は、作物や牧草を守るため年間３００万頭余­の野生のカンガルーを撃っているときに、苦情を言える立場にはほとんどない」と、反捕鯨国の偽善性に踏み込んだ。西洋人が東洋での犬肉消費にゾッとするのは感情からで理性­ゆえではなく、鯨肉を、一部欧州国の食卓に乗る馬肉と違う扱いにする道理はないとも述べ、「豪州が選別的感情の問題をアジアの主要同盟国との外交対立にまでしたのは愚劣以­外の何物でもない」と結んでいる。
ちなみに、中国の政府系シンクタンク中国社会科学院によると、現在、中国政府がイヌ肉とネコ肉の食用を禁止する方向で検討している。イヌやネコを食用にするのは中国だけで­はなく、イヌ肉は韓国で、ネコ肉はベトナムや南米の一部地域で食べられている。包括的な動物保護法案の一環として盛り込むものだが、法案成立までは10年はかかるだろうと­している。

Whales are tasty, not endangered (at least not the kind we hunt in Iceland) and extremely healthy for you. They live their whole lifes roaming around in the oceans free and then they get killed instantly, unlike how cows and other farm animals live in tiny cubicles their whole lives, are filled with poisonus chemicals and tortured to death.. Fucking hypocrit bastards.
