  • He said not to repaint a bike “unless it’s something this” and then he said “this bike, even in this condition, should not be repainted”…? Good videos though man.

    Should I attempt for a better paint job or leave it?

  • I'd agree that if the bike has original pin striping or hand painted decals that repainting could be a very bad idea. However if the frame is plain or in poor condition (flakey paint, rust, incomplete detailing, etc.) why not repaint? I'm not talking a cheap automobile paint booth job but a proper frame builder. That said depending on your intentions I think you should be careful to use paints that are not in keeping with colours available at the time. Over-restoration no, sympathetic resto yes!
