Ballyhoo Theme Song "Cheer Up". Eddie Cantor with Phil Spitalny's Music. NYC, USA , 1931.

A funny revue song about the present situation in USA 1931 during the Great Depression.

Eddie Cantor ( 1892-1964 ) was a very popular American comedian, singer, actor and songwriter.

Phil Spitalny ( 1890-1970 ) a popular American band leader. between 1920-40'ies. Was born in Ukraine during the Tzarist-Russia.

Durium and Hit-Of-The-Week, was cheap paper 78rpm records with celloid on the top, which was manufactured during the Great Depression, when people has less money to buy. The soft material made it possible cutting the rills very close, so the one side records contained the same playing time as a doubled 78rpm record

These cutting techniques was used when the LP's were developed during 1940'ies. The soft venyl material, made it possible to slow down the speed to 33 and 45 rpm. Also the soft venyl is relative free of noise. The standard speed of 78rpm was used, so the sound didn't drown in needle noice.
