So basically this is how to remove a tent fly when it isn't raining. This is a non-free standing 1 person 3 season tent. How much does it weigh? How many square feet of space? How many tent pegs to pitch? (And what is the purpose/function of heavy duty boots in a place like that - picnic table in the background, developed campground?)
@athinkr: The Vela I weighs 3.3 lbs (fly, inner tent, poles). The inner tent covers 18 sq. ft. with an additional 11 sq. ft. of vestibule space. One tent peg at each end is the minimum needed, more can be added depending on wind and weather. We shot this video on an island near the San Juans in Washington state on a cool spring day. We paddled canoes that day.The boots are waterproof paddling mukluks that are perfect for such a trip.
Those are made by Chota and it's called the Breathable Mukluk. Very warm and dry. On algae covered rocks they are very slippery. Very. So I've had a outdoor carpet put on the bottom of them to by a local cobbler and they are solid now. Love these boots.
It's a good review but it would have been nice to see the size of the tent rolled up and stored in its stuff sack. Also nice to see the length of the pole when folded down.
