Not all great accomplishments are of this sort. (Not to take away from this achievement, techno gadgets, pick-up, and all...) Some of the greatest acts acheived by humankind will go uncelebrated. The fact that people do them anyway is what makes our species great.

Yea, most have done something worth mentioning.
But almost none of them have done something absolutely awe inspiring as going solo to the north pole or the south pole, or climbing all 14 8000m peaks.
Try something like that before you act like it's not a big deal. It's different from winning a beauty pageant.
