1957 "Call Me Joe" (book).
1972 "Silent Running"
1980 "Battle Beyond the Stars".
1983 "Return of the Jedi" .

The 3 movies have the same basic theme as Avatar. Man is bad, primitives are good and can whup us, tech is the enemy of nature.
But Call me Joe IS the original. Google it.
You put Avatar on the same level as Serenity. It ain't, not by a longshot.

Avatar story = Pocahontas + Mononoke Princess.

Avatar has great visuals. The story is crap.

Gentlemen this is a damn good movie, and i will die happy if they make another adventure . . . with the same cast hopefully
