Japanese dog's character is a aggressive and tough.

I've been looking into getting a shiba, but I've never owned a dog before. They seem like tough dogs to train to not bite other dogs or be aggressive from what I've read.

Hahaha, crazy Shiba's. My Shiba has to be the dominant dog with other dogs, people can push it around all they want, but the second another dog tries to he flips out. He managed to be dominant over our Doberman.

sounds like you never had her around dogs much really helps when there young too keep tryin with her around a quite dog with a ball in her mouth or mus her till she carm down

may i ask if your shiba has ever biten and drawn blood? my 3.5 yo female shiba has been really aggressive towards other dogs and am looking at any pointers to fix it. if she can just tolerate the other dogs enough that is more than a miracle for me.

She's never bitten me if that's your question.. but with other dogs no either. My dog is also 3yrs & 4months. I have 2 other Shibas & one yorkie & one aussie.. so total of 5 dogs.. plus one of my shibas jus gave birth to 3 pups & they all get along.
Is your Shiba spayed? & has she ever been socialized with other dogs at a very early age? There is a way you can fix her aggressive behavior, but it takes time & patients.. it wont happen over night.
