@RuckedRampager the pattented version of the XM-16 is the M-16. The M16A1 was made of improved alloys and introduced the wonderful forward assist.

@mindlessprimitive Oh that's the Commando version of the Car-15 you're talking about. There are a few types of Car-15 variants, the Commando Car-15 is one of the variants and the one from Black Ops. The Car-15 does have a triangular foregrip, hell even the M16A2 inside of it's cylindrical handguard has a triangular frame. and the M16A1 was the PATENTED XM16A1 which wasnt referred to as an M16, and the ORIGINAL Car-15 was released around Vietnam and was an M16A1 with a shortened handguard

@RuckedRampager nope. the m16a1 was an improved version of the origional XM-16 which was refered to as the m16. The Car-15 was not the version that blinded the shooter, it was an upgrade of a previous carbine that had basically half of a front handguard of an m16a1 and half of a buttstock, that was barely retractable. The Car-15 introduced the tubular handguard, teloscoping stock, and a huge flash suppressor.

@mindlessprimitive Actually an M16 is a weapon series. an M16A1 IS the first M16 type weapon. Plus, the M4 was based on the Car-15 but the 4th generation of the M1 Carbine as I have already stated. the Car-15 itself was a weapon that was not used much due to it's high recoil and muzzle flare that blinded the user after 1 shot and was visible at over 150 feet away in the daytime. the M4 is just a better version yet still it's own weapon

@RuckedRampager Sir theyre all related but the car-15 is different from the m4 series. Barrel type and length, rear upper reciever, and stock. I said absolutely nothing about the commando being an m4. i said the m4 being an evolvement of the car-15. The m4 is not based of the m16, it was based of the m16a2 (completely different). it is based off the m16 series, but the m16 model and m16a2 are different. u just got schooled by a call of duty bitch so research weapons and fire thm.

The M4 is in fact the 4th generation of the M1 Carbine, but the M4 modeled after the highly successful M16 Assault Rifle. Before you comment, know some shit and dont be a goddamn Call of Duty bitch
