Flanders Fields was created to coincide with remembrance day 2005. It includes the reading of the poem 'Flanders Fields' by Lt Col. John McCrae and the well known excerpt from the poem 'For the Fallen' by Laurence Binyon.
The voiceover was performed by the very talented actor Michael Haynes (michaelhaynes.name).
Both Michael and myself took this very seriously as we wanted to create something that would honour the memory of the fallen.
The images of war fill you with great sorrow and regret. The poems and the way in which they are read by Michael are passionate and proud. The music, 'Abide with Me' and 'Sunset' touch a cord in your heart. And finally the poppy fields signify peace and remembrance.
