Custer's Last Band was a group from Lancaster, PA (USA), and played from 1968 to 1974. Starting out as purely a "soul" band, we eventually evolved to a more diversified repertoire in late 1969, with the inclusion of material from such acts as Three Dog Night, Santana, Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Joe Cocker, Traffic, etc. This was our one and only record. It was released in May of 1970 on the independent Philadelphia label, Golden Chariot records. Only 1000 copies were pressed (on that label), so, if you have one in decent condition, I imagine it's worth some money! I recorded this track from our original aluminum acetate 45 single, which is shown in the video. It's the yellow & black "Virtue" label and you'll notice the artist's name is different. When we recorded this track, we were still called The Chateaus. By the time the record was released we had changed our name to Custer's Last Band. Today, this record is much more popular in the United Kingdom (with Northern Soul fans) than it ever was here the U.S. How they found it, I'll never know!
Love it! 5* for sure
