Congo has been ravaged by war for the last decade. Millions have died.
Sexual violence against women is one of the weapons which the warring parties use against their opponents. Thousands of women in Congo have been physically and mentally scarred for life.
Justine Masika Bihamba has been supporting these women since the conflicts began in the early '90s. In December 2008 she received the Human Rights Defenders Tulip award for her work.
This film portrays Justine and the work of her organization - Synergy for Women Victims of Sexual Violence - based in Goma, North Kivu Province, Eastern DRC.
