Chapter One

Selena's POV

"Happy Birthday Selena!" Nick exclaimed as I opened the door to see my best friend stood in front of me holding a cake just for me that read: 'Happy 16th Birthday Selena Marie Gomez.' I blew out all the candles and put my arms out for a hug. "Thank you Nick!" I said.
"Anything for my best friend" He said with a smile on his face.
Oh that smile! Every time I see it my heart skips a beat, oh did I forget to mention that I'm in love with my best friend? Well it's true! I love Nick Jonas to the moon and back.
"Anyone in?" Nick asked whilst waving his hand in my face.
Shit, I zoned out!
"Oops, sorry Nick" I said making him laugh.
By this time Nick was stood in my kitchen with the cake on the counter. I stared at it for a little bit before getting some of the icing on my finger and rubbing it on Nick's nose.
He gasped and went to do the same so I squealed and ran up the stairs all the way to the top. I have a big family so we live in a mansion, it has 6 floors.

Seconds later I could hear footsteps coming to the room that I was in, ducking behind the piano as the door opened.
"Selena you can run but you can't hide" Nick said adding an evil laugh at the end making me giggle.
Quickly I put my hand over my mouth to stop the giggles but it was to late, Nick was already standing over the top of me.
"Hey there" He said with a smirk on his face.
I screamed and darted out the room as fast as I could. Nick started chasing me round the house once again.
It didn't take long before I ran out of breath and crashed on the coach, Nick pounced on top of me. We were inches away from kissing until the door swung open, it was my other best friend Demi.
"Whoa, am I interrupting something?" She asked.
"No, nothing happened." I said quickly as I jumped off of Nick.
"Right." Demi said with a suspicious look on her face.
I gave Demi an innocent smile before walking back into the kitchen and offering them both a piece of cake.

"So what dress are you wearing tonight then Sel?" Demi asked as she took a bite of her cake.
"This gorgeous, long, light pink, fairytale like dress." "It's like one of the ones you would wear to prom." I answered.
"Sounds amazing, can't wait to see it" said Demi.
"I can't wait to wear it" I said with a huge smile on my face.

Nick's POV

As I sit and listen to the girls conversation I start to fantasise about how Selena would look in her party dress tonight and how her hair and make up would be done to match it.
Now you may be thinking, why am I thinking about this? Well the truth is I'm in love with her, have been for years.
"What about you Nick?" asked Demi.
"Huh?" I zoned back in.
"Are you sleeping over after the party?" Demi asked again.
"Oh right, yeah I am" I replied.


That night

Selena's POV

Here I am sat at my dressing table getting ready for the night of my life, my sweet sixteen! I already have my dress on, right now I'm applying mascara to my eye lashes, curling them as I go. My hair is pinned at the top of my head letting the curls fall to my shoulders, one more thing to go, the tiara.
I walk to the top of the stairs where my eldest sister Vanessa (25) places the tiara on my head. I feel like a princess.
