Mechanical Bliss Part 3 Tubular Bells

Video by DickTool Co 1980 - Excerpt from Mechancial Bliss. Victim Moan was a band who liked challenges and took chances, such as covering Mike Oldfield's classic Tubular Bells. Kenn created the basic riff on a physical tape loop that rotated between the tape player and a glass pop bottle. I added short-wave radio and kalimba, Linda played synth for the first time ever and Kenn was Guitar Hero. Linda begins the howling, which spreads and builds to an orgasmic finish before diminishing and leaving just the loop playing Oldfield's riff on a bare stage. I am nondescript, Kenn is in lab coat and straw hat and Linda is a construction worker in overalls, hardhat and heels, all in yellow, as I recall. The images on the wall behind us are handmade slides we created and projected at steep angles from two projectors.
