@steviegTVreturns Didn't sound like Sky Radio, more like Radio Netherlands Wereldomroep 2 from the Astra satellite;they used two PANDA1 audio subcarriers on Astra. 7.38Mhz for the English Service(this was indicated as RNW1 in what satellite TV magazine), and 7.56Mhz for the Dutch Service (this was indicated as RNW2 in what satellite TV magazine).

If I had been in charge of C&W I would have carried ALL stereo capable satellite channels with 7.02/7.20Mhz PANDA1 stereo tracks from Astra/Eutelsat etc in NICAM Digital Stereo to subscribers.
-
Still love this close down... Good old times.. :)
-
Disney channel uk on analogue cable was sonically poor:barely any UK cable operators received it in PANDA1 stereo from 7.02/7.20Mhz on satellite and relayed it that way in NICAM or FM Stereo to their subscribers with NICAM TVs and vcrs or fm tuners, all satellite cable and terrestrial tv and radio offerings broadcasting stereo should be offered that way to customers be it nicam or fm stereo carriage.

Well in the other version of this video (when he was stevieg2087), he says it will hand over to the guide and foreign radio.
-
Which is unusual because C&W/ntl: never normally carried english and foreign language radio stations from satellite via FM not even Sky Radio (which I like even though the toth news and adverts are Dutch language)and Sky Radio usually play a lot of english language pop music too so to say"it's an all dutch station and that people won't like it"is an excuse not to carry it on cable to listeners which imho wouldn't wash with me if I was CEO of C&W/ntl:!
-
hey, at the end, it does!
-
The soundtrack sounds like radio netherlands wereldomroep 2(the dutch service feed)from the Astra satellite
Wait, why was that news in the end Dutch? :)

@MrSambaboy Beyond me, for some reason Cable & Wireless felt it was neccessary to play Dutch (I think it was Sky) Radio in the background on Channel Guide, although they played English music.

How did you get Disney Channel if you didn't subscribe to Sky Movies and The Movie Channel?
myanthony1 2 years ago
It was from a free to view period, which Disney did alot of in the late 90s.
