http://athleanx.com One of the hallmarks of the AthLEAN-X Training System is the unique ways in which celebrity fitness trainer Jeff Cavaliere brings you to work out and produce muscle gains that have long ago stalled following the same old boring workouts. With Cavaliere's cutting edge approach to training, your muscles have no choice but to be blasted out of dormancy and into growth via his muscle confusion tactics.

This video is no different. AthLEAN-X brings to you the dreaded Tripod Pushup! It can be done with your hands either on medicine balls or kettlebells. The kettlebells provide a little more stability and therefore are a little bit easier than the medicine balls to perform this.

What you want to do is stabilize your body in a plank position with your hands on two medicine balls of roughly the same size, and your feet on a larger medicine ball. The whole key after that is incorporating Jeff's time under tension protocol that literally etches in muscle as you hold your way to all new growth.

Try this one pushup variation the next time you do your workout and let us know if it doesn't shock your system into some Xtreme growth (ok...and maybe a little soreness the first time you do this!). When you're done with this, head over to http://athleanx.com and get started using hundreds of easy to follow, muscle building techniques just like this....in the AthLEAN-X Training System. We can't wait to get your body reconstruXion started today!

  • it hasnt been answered about the sizes of these medicine balls!! the one at his feet is clearly bigger, the balls in my gym are all same size but just different weight so surely this exercise wouldnt work if i used 3 of the same size balls would it??

  • Hey Christopher....its' Jeff. Absolutely would work with three med balls the same size. I just happened to grab the only three around me at the time. The off balance sizes creates a little more instability that makes me work even harder to maintain balance....but same targeted areas regardless of the symmetry of the balls.

  • what can I use other than medicine balls for this exercise??

  • Kettlebells, Airex Pads, Dumbbells, etc

  • Hey Jeff,

  • The red ball is smaller then the blue...lol

  • Hear he died.

  • haha! crazy aids? XD

  • How come you aren't going down farther for a deeper push up? You could still keep your back aligned to prevent injury and go even deeper, IMO. Also, feet on a much larger swiss ball would be a better idea IMO.

  • @RazKaz31 Preventing this is a major part of the workout.

  • jeff can you do calve exercises for mass tried out your other exercises and getting excellent results switched from lifting really heavy weights doing body building to doing athlean-x training

  • I'm going to try that tomorrow

  • Wow, that's impressive. I'd be too afraid of rolling the ball accidentally and hurting my wrist.

  • crazy workout...thanx for the info man appreciate it
