Survivor: season one condensed into an hour

Highlights from season one of the cbs reality show Survivor, edited by myself (though I didn't cut anything out of the introductory two-and-a-half minutes).

My thoughts on the contestants:

Sonja - wouldn't be the last annoyingly musical contestant on the show. I liked her spirit, though. It was sad when she said "Go get em, you guys" as her torch got snuffed.

B.B. - so easy to hate. Again, a type that would return.

Stacey - the most invisible contestant. I can't think of anything to say about her.

Ramona - her heart just didn't seem to be in it.

Dirk - typically hypocritical bible thumper.

Joel - handsome lug.

Gretchen - her genuinely shocked reaction when she got voted out was touching.

Greg - one of the more entertaining Survivor contestants.

Jenna - one of the most lovable Survivor contestants.

Gervase - not that interesting, except when he explains why he voted for Kelly.

Colleen - adorable and funny.

Sean - like Sue said, he didn't have the balls required for this game.

Sue - she was fun most of the way, until she turned bitter, hypocritical, and ugly.

Rudy - a priceless one-liner for every occasion. What makes it so effective is that he's not even TRYING to be funny!

Kelly - there was something intriguing and likable about Kelly. She seemed like a sad person.

Richard - after seeing several more seasons, it's obvious he's no villain. All he's guilty of is actually playing the game. Entertaining to watch.

Thanks for this, enjoyed it a lot. It's amazing to look back at how naive some of the early contestants were and how far the game has evolved. Hatch was ahead of his time.
