All I have to say is they are both excellent singers and Katatonia did a great cover of this song. Jeff Buckley and Katatonia both have great music so, in my mind, I do not see why there has to be a competition. I have listened to both of them for a long time and feel my life is more complete for having heard both of their songs...and that should be the end of the discussion. Although I'm sure it is not.

Everyone who says they like this version better must keep in mind that Jeff's was never completed. It was just a 4track demo. The band never got to record it wth him since he drowned before the sessions were scheduled. That said, this is a great choice by Katatonia and they execute it very well. Too bad we never got to hear it the way Jeff intended.

Jeff is my favorite singer of all time... but I think this version holds a far, far stronger dark mood. I love this version.

I wish so many people wouldn't knock the vocals, Jonas even said Jeff is one of the top vocalists in his opinion, they just wanted to cover a song that they love.
