i totally agree with you, except the outdated part. Music itself never gets old... just the people who make it. But there was definitely a place for shoegaze, & people can still like that... or prefer a band's later works. I love finding other projects of bands i like (ie, Failure & Autolux). I just heard this album today, but it will definitely be played a lot on my mp3 player in the near future :)

the whole recent hipster thing may have taken the lovely sound of mojave 3 and tainted it, but thankfully no trendwhores will ever be able to ruin the wonderful short lived era that was known as shoegaze.
