This is tuff!!!! BTW, somehow the background-vocal-less version of this - and of Lonely Weekends - sneaked out somehow. Thwe original issues had the background group, and both miss it when it's not there. (People who only know Rich from the "Behind Closed Doors" era don't know what a real rocker he was!)

Hard to believe it has been almost 52 yrs. since Charlie Rich's career began. He recorded this song, "Whirlwind," on August 17, 1958, 34 yrs. before my birthday. It was his debut single October that year. Sadly, it flopped, but what a great song; Charlie at the start of his career, and already the emotion is there!

@eldorado62 There's a more recent compilation out by Charlie Rich titled "The Complete Sun Masters" that has both versions of the same song, both on the 1st disc. (It has 3 total.)
