"UMPG Publishing" claiming owner rights to this clip (Fuck turds...)

Bill Withers setting up his classic blue song, explaining the origin of it. Then performing live and sweaty at the "Old Grey Whistle Test" in 1972.

But most important; check out the coolest dude on drums (James Gadson), making us believe the simplest beat seem overwhelmingly intricate! Which it is.

  • We miss her but we know that dummer is still high

  • @giro158

I don´t think he is dead. Yet. I looked at Wikipedia, no notes of him passing. But they could be wrong of course. Hope not!

  • @Lampodikt James Gadson is alive and well. He plays drums on Jamie Lidell's Compass (2010) and has worked with Beck on several studio projects (check out his Record Club videos!). Still the man.

  • @helloisa22 Great!

  • Gadons still alive, played on a track for D'Angelos new album. ?uestlove says of him in a recent interview; "Bill Withers' former drummer, James Gadson—71-year-old cat—is playing this rhythm and the final result was just, I've never been so jealous at not being part of the creative process. James Gadson is like my hero."
