The beginning was great, but the overall quality isn't that great sadly enough : / And yeah, the organist just... didn't do well. Not to say he's a "bad" organist, but his performance with this particular soundtrack was just awful.
@feioncastor Uematsu didn't play this on an organ, though, did he? Playing on an organ is drastically different than any other keyed instrument; particularly electronic keyboards and pianos.
I didn't know there was a terrible difference other than the choosing of voice, and the working of the foot pedals and such.
And I don't think Uematsu played this piece on an organ when he wrote it, but I'd think he plays it on an organ when he performs it live with The Black Mages. I may be wrong since I've never seen a good video of a Black Mages performance.
Okay, I'm watching a better vid of The Black Mages now, and you're right, Uemasu doesn't play an actual organ. How is it any different than pushing the keys of any other instrument? I've played organs before in church and stuff and they seem to function the same as a piano or my electronic Casio keyboard in my bedroom.
I'm not an organist but what I was once told is that a large pipe organ requires a very different technical ability and strength in the hands as opposed to other instruments and even smaller organs. Though, I am not the expert on this matter. I need to go research this more. And, if I'm wrong then I duly apologize for that before hand. <_<;
