@TheAcacia1984 - the 'gap' between 2X4's needed would somewhat depend on the quality and thickness of the bamboo you're using. If you're using really big bamboo (thick walled), I'd say 3 feet gaps wouldn't be a problem. If you're using smaller bamboo, I'd probably go with a closer 2X4 gap. Sorry, I don't really know the 'math' behind this. This is just my gut feeling. I live in Thailand and there are a lot of people who use bamboo for flooring.

@TheAcacia1984 - we walk on bamboo flooring all the time. I don't think the weight will be a problem. It does need replacing more often than wooden floors however.

Yes and I was just realizing this myself. I have a steady supply of bamboo growing nearby and I was actually thinking of making an attic in my home using the bamboo as flooring. Of course using it naturally is my best way for expansion at the moment, and your video has been the best advice on how to do just this. One question I might ask you is do you think if the bamboo was placed along 2x4's with a 3 foot gap, would the bamboo flooring be able to hold the weight? Thanks for your time.

@TheAcacia1984 - thanks buddy. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the video. Bamboo is an extremely useful plant, you can eat it, build with it, carry water with it, start fires with it and so much more.
