Only a fragment of the very first rehearsal (in fact, first fifteen minutes with this symphony). It had to be cut because of speaking in between.

  • And finally, to prokhorprotasov: You write so many points, yet none of them make much sense. ad 1 - You probably mean the tips of the bows visible, which explicitly contradicts point 3. As to points 4 & 5, I can only say with much regret, that as for someone signing himself as a conductor, You have surprisingly shallow knowledge of the ways of conducting. Did You ever see Furtwängler, for example? There are many videos of him conducting here. A good lecture.

  • Now, some more specific answers:

to Cellorubik: this is exactly what sometimes happens during the rehearsals

to mrtyles: there's still music there, perhaps Your sound level int Your speakers/headphones is too low.

to Bereyoga: I'm not 100% sure, but if I recall well, the sound was recorded separately. Nothing so non-standard!

to Bereyoga and some others: if You can find this exact recording issued on CD, I will pay You 1,000$ for every minute of it ;)

  • Well, I think I owe some answers to all of You YouTubers. First of all, yes, this recording is genuine. Some of You claim that there's no orchestra, or that the recording suffers because of lack of it. Well, I might only say that this video was chosen precisely because of not having any members of orchestra visible (I personally wouldn't feel comfortably finding myself on some other video). But, as javajavadk noted, You still can see the tips of bows (viola bows, more specifically).

  • LEGOLAS!

  • It looks like his baton is floating!

  • @prokhorprotasov -facepalm-

  • What a beautiful man. What passion

  • You're baton technique is not good. You hold the baton like a chop stick,

it must be firm in hand, pointed straight out as an extension of the arm.

You also have a problem with dragging it as you give your 3rd beat.

    Not very good my friend.

    good tone

i don't like your tempi during the bridge sections.

but eh. the reason your'e bassoons don't come in on time at 5:55 is a primary example of why your conducting is not very clear without better use of the baton.
