This is the first track from a boot recording of Hall & Oates playing on a New York-area radio broadcast, 18 November 1973, Ultra Sonic Recording, Hempstead, NY.

Hall and Oates were virtual unknowns at this time. Their second album, "Abandoned Luncheonette," had been released to critical acclaim, but sales were not particularly strong. This song, "It's Uncanny," is an early example of the blend of catchy pop and blue-eyed soul that the duo would go on to perfect in the '70s and '80s. The studio version of the song did not appear on any proper H&O releases, but was released in 1977 as part of an Atlantic Records compilation of the duo's early years, "No Goodbyes."

  • @planetrockford what a pity that is :( Hall and Oates deserves more recognition by our current generation than Justin Bieber.

  • Who were in H&O's band for this show?

  • never heard this before, and it's great. I'm 40 so really i didn't know they existed before the 80's. but it makes sense these guys put in the work to become great and finally achieve the commercial success they deserved. the other thing that impresses me is their ability to find such great muscians to accompany them over the years, they have had many bands and they all kick ass.

  • Hall & Oates 2nd album was entitled: NO GOODBYES. The song, "It's Uncanny"

is not provided here with the original album version. There are very few groups that can pull

off a "live" production of their song and have it sound like the album version or CD. A few

individual artists can sing "live" and be genius enough to make it sound exact.

The NO GOODBYES album had a cover of a young woman in a floor-length dress, leaving a

titz-on-the ritz hall < rich with de dollahs).

  • Always have loved this song what a kick!

  • good old Holland Oates

  • Oates and his fantabulous falsetto

  • Strange thing, I bet Bieber's highest viewed video has more views than every Hall & Oates upload, official or otherwise.

  • she steals my money

  • Merci pour cette chanson dont je ne connaissais pas la version..
