Ok, so I actually made a small story to go with this one! Yay!
What happens is:
Marlene falls in love with Skipper and he tells her that he'll always be there for her. The other penguins tell her not to believe him, because sooner or later he's going to have to be called back to the HQ for his duties. She ignores them and takes his love for granted.
But three years later Skipper is called out and has to leave her behind. The others were right.... Who knew?
