08 Civic Removing Overspray By Hand Compounding By Big "A" Detailing

The customer spray tinted his tail lights without removing them first. The trunk, driver quarter & rear bumper had heavy overspray. I removed the wing to get to everything.
It was friday night & I had a ton of work lined up for the next day.
This was the quickest way to remove the overspray. I misted water on the surface first & then rubbed in the compound with a micro fiber towel. By hand compounding the entire car I got the paint to about 85% which was the goal for this job. I used Meguiars M205 Polish then 3M Ultrafine Polish with my Dewalt DW849 rotary.
I put on the first coat of Klasse @ 12:14am & let it cure for a half hour then removed it. I laid on another coat of Klasse around 12:45am & left it there & called it a night!
Humberto come in @ 7am to remove the tape & Klasse & get the car ready for an early morning pickup!
We clayed, hand compounded, clayed, hand compounded till the overspray was all off. I cant tell you why it was done this way but it worked =)
I didnt take out the halogens on the whole car, just the areas that had overspray. With the halogens on its easier to see the overspray.

@TMSLAUGHTER26 he sucked out the dent. bang a rubber mallet a few times then "sliced" his hand. and spray painted it grey saying its a wax and it needed to dry for 24 hours. which is also the reason he said he would be back the next day. so i had to take white paint and spray over that to cover up my failure as a Marine. i should have been more cautious but i was to dumb to know what was good for myself. well whoever sees this and knows they need another opinion use this as a refrence.

@TMSLAUGHTER26 so since i was thinking what a deal from this guy say oh your deduct is 500 ill fix it like they would for 300 deal. so of course my young dumbass self does it.(not thinking) oh and it was raining btw. so hes out in the rain he slices his hand and he comes up to me saying hey man i'll come back tomorrow and ill finish can you pay me now and i'll see you tomorrow. i say sure. and pay him. i never see him again and today im still with a dent up door. heres what he did for $300.

holy shit. thats badass.. so heres how i got over spray on my car. i come back from Afghanistan and i get into a car accdent.(not my fault) so i file a claim. well while the next day i was going to pay my claim and get it fixed. but i get a knock on the door. he scams me into thinking i would get a deal from him to get it fixed from him. he jacks it up worse and left me in the wind to get it fixed myself. while in the process of taking 300 bucks from me. i was to young and anxious.
