This is a test of my 1950's Omni- Directional CLM air raid siren. This siren hasn't been run for 30+ years and the motor needs a bit of work. It's a single phase, 220V siren; I am running it off 110V. This is a 10/12 siren just like the regular CLM's.

  • nice to hear this. got one near my house that was set off on new years

  • @tearn9090 The same one?

  • You can limit air intake and therefore sound output.

Would be nice to see down into the rotor.

  • @robertgift The rotors are combined, do both 10/12 are fused together. Having some difficulty getting the rotor off the motor because I can't find a puller that will attach to it because its made in a weird way.

I say we take up a collection on the airraidsirens(.)com forum for him to set this thing off one blast at full speed, to cover the cost in the very unlikely scenario that he would get a ticket for it. If he doesn't get cited, the money would either be redistributed to the donors, or put to a good cause.

  • @Blue10AEMia I would love to test full power but I live in a city with tightly packed homes for mile around; to risky. It's 3 HP

  • @wiifire8 I would suggest closing your garage door to muffle the sound, and simply put on some ear protection. That way it wouldn't be too loud.

  • nice sounding

  • @wiifire8 Thank you. Be carefull with your puller to not warp or damage the rotors. Always concerned thathey may destruct.

Does more air get pushed to the bottom rotor by incoming air momentum?

  • Don't disturb the Nieghbors! lol

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 thats the chopper which chops aire between the stator (the part that doesnt move

  • Where do you get most of your sirens at? Ive been thinking to start collecting them.
