This story is going to replace Gravity . . . sorry. I think it'll be a short-story, so don't expect over 30+ chapters, aha. Enjoy. :)
My video didn't save, so . . .
Bree Logan - Selena ; Luke Davidson - Joe ; Alex Jones - Taylor L. ; Lucy Logan - Miley.

(Normandy, France -- 1952)

Bree Logan looked outside the window of her house, mesmerized by the beauty that the ocean portrayed. The emerald sea crashed with white, foamy caps against the shoreline as the ocean wave currents breezed by with tranquility. The air was crisp, dry, and had a relatively high temperature but was easy to maintain.

It was perfection.

A bird chirped in the far distance. A toddler scooped up a bucket of water for his sandcastle. A fruit vendor cried out in rapid French, showing off his market of fresh produce. There was no doubt that everyone was happy during their summer vacation.

But in reality, it was far from it.

"Bree, get away from that window!" Aunt Tess snapped sourly, wiping her hands on her apron as she plopped a skinned potato into the boiling water. "You're going to get us caught if you continue with your shenanigans . . ."

Sucking in a sharp breath, Bree closed the curtains to block the intensity of the sunlight. The living room became dark; it was eerie and ghostly, cold and mysterious. All the things that took away Bree's life.

From across the street, a loud gunfire took charge and a wretched screech of a mother in turmoil filled the ears of the fugitives in Bree's abandoned home. A chill ran down her spine, goosebumps forming on her milky white skin. She could almost envision the blood seeping through Aaron's skin, his oceanic eyes now frozen—frozen with the look of fear.

"Served that moron right," Luke Davidson growled, coming down the staircase.

In an instant, Bree froze. Everyone in the household bowed down to Luke, even though he was merely eighteen years old. With his heavy British accent; his caramel, golden orbs; and the raunchy, smug smirk, he easily intimidated all the people that came his way.

Aunt Tess stopped her stirring on the skillet, straightening her posture as the thuds of Luke's boots hit against the wooden floorboards became louder into her ears. Her niece could almost hear her thunderous heartbeats inside her chest as Luke met with her face-to-face.

"The little bastard tried to scare away Thompson with a knife," Luke snarled, still talking about the recent death of Aaron. Still, Bree and the rest of her family members could hear the loud sobs and screams from Aaron's mother. "It served the boy right . . . he had nothing to live for, anyway."

Aunt Tess licked her lips together, blinking her moss-green eyes up at the broad-shouldered Luke. "S-sir . . ."

"Shut up!" Luke hollered, his eyes now filled with frustration. "Did I tell you that you could speak up?" When Bree's aunt remained silent, he trailed around the kitchen until he found the ripe, crimson red apple he was hoping for. "I'll be going on duty late tonight for a shift by the pier. . . . You all better keep your mouths shut and don't say a fucking word or else I will get General Floyd to take you away. We wouldn't want that, now would we?"

Bree watched Luke take a large bite from his apple, the entire family still as he sauntered into the living room. His golden eyes went from Bree's mother, to her younger sister Lucy, and over to Bree.

As their eyes met, her mind raced with fury but at the same time, an undesirable lust. He was, no doubt, unbelievably gorgeous. She knew she had absolutely no chance; she was part of a fugitive family, a household of people who were meant to die sooner or later. Her life was going to end up short-lived . . . he wasn't going to waste his time.

Once Luke departed, the sobs of Aaron's mother across the street began to decrease in volume. Bree's household became quiet once more; Lucy began braiding their mother's hair as she began knitting a useless scarf—it was just a hobby she did ever since she had fallen ill.

While Bree began to prepare the dinner table, the sun began to descend lower into the horizon. It dappled a pinkish-orange glow into the emerald sea, a sunset Bree had always wished to experience.

Through a far distance, a man bobbed his head through the water, coughing violently as his limp body fell onto the coastline. His black beads of eyes looked from house-to-house, his mind going berserk.

He had reached the end of all form of independence. The city that once lived with colors and happiness was now dreary and the civilians were the ones to repay. Somehow, he had to get the innocent transients out of there as soon as possible.

  • I'm not imagining anybody while reading this.

Just Bree, and the people around her.

Not Selena, Miley, Taylor, Joe, etc. But watch

people are still going to complain about couples.

    -.-

ANYWAY! THIS WAS GOOD! (: I can't wait to see

where you are going to go with this.

-.^ Where did you get your inspiration from? xD

  • @lisandra97 The inspiration came from I don't even know. I just thought about Independence Day & how people live kept under tight control and I sort of used it in a fictional time period & stuff. :)
