ITER - The global energy picture

Friday was fusion day for Nabuo Tanaka, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency based in Paris. During his visit to Cadarache he met ITER Director-General Kaname Ikeda and also Gabriel Marbach, Head of CEA Institute of Magnetic Fusion Research, who took Tanaka on a tour around Tore Supra. In a special address to the ITER staff, Nabuo Tanaka then cast general energy trends into actual numbers. After his talk, we had the chance to talk to Nabuo Tanaka and to ask him where fusion will fit into the global energy portfolio.
