My snare drum

My snare drum 14" x 8" birch, 7mm thick,
Made more of less from scratch on my part as a fun project.
This was my fist build and I couldn't be happier; it's a gorgeous snare drum to see in person and sounds fantastic.
The size was inspired by Danny Carey (tool) 's sig. snare drum but being birch I felt 7mm was a good thickness.
I won't go through all the steps I took in the description but if you do have any questions then please feel free to message me and I'll do my best to answer.
I think I'm starting to go on a bit so please enjoy the photo diary of what was a pleasure to make.

It makes the sound very fat with a certain fullness to it.

Interesting, never heard of that before. How does it differ in sound from an 8 or 10 lug snare?

Yeah, gives it a real nice sound when its cranked right up.
