This is the alternate opening of the Theatrical Version when the reshoots took place. I really think they should have used this opening with the Man In Black there fiddling with the baby instead of a nurse.

I believe this was a shot for the film before they decided jamie would be having michaels baby, I believe its just a baby possibly karas or someone in the family, its not small enough to be newborn

I dont now it 100% but i think: 1. The babys role in the plot yes! 2. To show Michael very angry and Brutal because in the producers cut he is like a computer that lost his control! He does what dr. whynn say! But michael was not so in the other movies! In the threatical version he is like every time the brutal mörder that dont now what means the word fear! And i think thats a little bit better!

Ok, I have another question. Does the change in sequences for the threatical version after the scene where Kara and Danny get kidnappped change the baby's role in the plot?

Yes you are right! When michael kill jamie and the baby then his power will end and the curse go to another child(Danny)! And the baby must be the sacrifirce(last sacrifirce for michael)! Halloween 6 is not bad but this journey with Thorn is not the best for michael! In halloween 7 michael is a again the true killer not a ghost with a curse! Thats better!

The purpose was to pass the curse onto the baby and to sacrifirce him! I dont realy now it but i think it was so because when michael dont can kill the baby then the baby must become like michael! Thats why he put the mark on it!
