Silent sinus syndrome is a disorder where the maxillary (cheek) sinus does not aerate. The sinus develops negative pressure and pulls the floor of the orbit down. The eye gets sunken in.

  • Hi,

I thought I'd post some more resources related to this topic on my Blog: Sinus411 dot com If you look the blog, search for keywords you are interested in.

Or my work related web site at available by search "michigan sinus center".

  • It would be pretty rare. JET.

  • I was diagnosed with Silent Sinus Syndrome during my last pregnancy. After giving birth I had surgery and all the fluid/gunk was removed and my septem straightended (thought to be the cause as it was blocking flow?). My eye has improved somewhat (not totally back to normal). Do you think it will continue to improve over time (my surgery was 2 years ago)? Also, I am now pregnant again and wondering if I have an increased chance of it happening again as sinus congestion is common in pregnancy?

  • does you your nasal mucus stink when you have this condition?

  • Thanks for the video.

  • is it possible for both eyes to be sunken in if both sinuses in the cheeks are blocked for a long period.
