The sound is exact same as the arcade. I bet you the 7800 has the same sound sstem as the Centipede arcade board.
-
Yeah, it does use the stock 2600 sound, but there is more variety to it thanks to the added memory.
-
That's not surprising; the original arcade version attracted a lot of female players.
-
the sounds seems just the same as the 2600 version imo
which is one of my all time favs on the 2600
-
it was released in the 80's, a long time before gameboy was invented. but it was a popular game so it probably will have been re-released on different consoles
-
isn't centipede for the gameboy adv (says atari on the cart)? is it similar to this?
-
yea im gonna try to get a 7800 seeing it has backward compatibility with the 2600

@waspspray You can't go wrong. Lots of great classic arcade ports on the 7800 :)

Great Closer Look, Leaf. Been missing your videos.
Exceptionally fun to play with the Sega Genesis Arcade Stick, or the 7800 or 2600 Trackball controller.
But, it was also just as fun to play, even with the stock 7800 controllers...such as they were.
The 2 player co-op mode makes a comeback in the Sega Genesis version of the game, but that game just isn't as solid as the 7800 version.

Now you mention the tracball, I wonder if it works in real tracball mode or just joystick mode? I'll have to try it and find out. Should have thought to try my tracball for this review.
