7,000 deaths a year? I see a page saying there are 43,000 deaths from automobile accidents in US. They also say that most people die from being hit while they are stupidly crossing the tracks dangerously on foot. The report makes it seem as iff the trains are very dangerous, but they're much safer than car travel in the US! - LHS
