White priveledge is a myth. Im mexican and Ive never seen white privledge. Just the opposite in truth! If you think white priveledge is real your either 1) A black, or brown racist. Or 2) Brainwashed by the media, and your garbage public school education!

@carlsm95 many blacks are undereducated... for various reasons... The civil rights movement helped many blacks as can be seen... (sadly many blacks have ignored the opportunities made for them then) the only part that sounds a little ignorant/racist is that u conclude the reason black people are in a rut today is because they 'don't have will power'..? is that all..?

@dlwke2 Exactly. This is going to sound quite racist but its not my fault the majority of blacks are undereducated. The civil rights movement gave blacks the opportunity to pull themselves out of the rut they were in and they still haven't done that, because most of them don't have the will power. Let them work hard and EARN their way into a good school. Affirmative action is just another form of racism.

If Black and White America were on the same social, economic, and political playing field, then maybe the phrase "only racists consider race" MIGHT make a little sense. But otherwise, telling me to not consider race is just like telling me to ignore the way this country has truly screwed over the Black community, and I refuse to do that. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away...annoying racial disparities is not the way to make them go away lol..

Hey @dlwke2, you seem to be overlooking the fact that "smartness" as measured by the people who determine college admission highly depends on academic resources/good quality schools, and African Americans are disproportionately at a socio-economic disadvantage (and therefore tend to go to lower quality schools). The phrase "only racists consider race" is absolutely absurd to me, because this country's racist past (and present) heavily affects the present day and ignoring that fact is silly.

@elizamigalias09, people who support racist affirmative action policies are nothing but RACISTS! if someone is smart enough and has good enough grades, then they shouldn't need special treatment. why is it that asians and whites don't need affirmative action??

@carlsm95, asians and whites get screwed with affirmative action. look at uc berkeley and ucla.. when voters said NO to affirmative action and the practice had to stop at those schools, the number of asians admitted skyrocketed, showing that affirmative action was artificially suppressing their numbers. if a black student is smart enough and hard working, then he/she shouldn't need affirmative action. too many blacks feel like they are entitled to special treatment just for being black!

@Glovefullavasoline The one I fell deeply in love with :). I basically wrote what I was thinking. I am more of a person who care more about content to be honest, so I was not paying much attention to the grammar anyway :/., but thanks for pointing it out, it is still something I have to work on!! :D
