The hamstrings are a group of muscles located at the back of the thigh. These muscles are important for good posture because they can effect the tilt of the pelvis.

This video shows some great ways to stretch the hamstrings as well as some commonly made hamstring stretching mistakes.

  • Thanks for the information. I look forward to looser hamstrings.

  • Very informative. Thank you!

  • Hi, i was wondering how long should i hold these stretches?( the door way one mainly),and how many times should i repeat so not to do any damage?

I am sooooo unflexible, and am like that picture of the man doing the incorrect stretch, bent at the knees and back.

I'm going to try your stretch out daily and see if there is improvement.

Should i do this more than one session a day ever day?

  • thanks man 4 stars cause your voice is dull :)

  • I've always had tight hamstrings. I thought I was stretching them properly, now I think maybe I haven't been.
