@yoshpal13 Nope, His mother was of low birth, So he had to do everything he could to show the nobles who were trying to off him and his father that he was more deserving of the Imperial throne, He believed he had to be ruthless, sneaky and a good liar in order to survive and reach his goal (Cutthroat ways of the Noblity is quite cruel) for that everyone was a pawn to him even Selveria and Radi (saving Sel for her power and making that promise to Radi that he knew deep down he would not keep)

Well its both a good thing and a bad thing that MAX told Selvaria to go die. If he had told her. "I love you too, so go win that battle and come back so we can make babies," Selvaria would have entered Super God mode and no one would be able to beat the game.
