Fourth: Or the $700,000,000,000+ a year that's earmarked for the military (DOD + 'War on Terrorism' + Homeland security + Veterans Affairs) which doesn't include the 200 to 300 billion a year 'appropriated' for the 2 wars we're fighting that get nice names like the "Emergency Supplemental: Operations Global War on Terror; Activities in Iraq & Afghanistan" (2006). And your statistic about 7% the 'stimulus package' actually going to the economy is essentially meaningless...

Third: It seems you don't understand the word earmark, that there is an earmark in a spending bill simply means that it is designated for some purpose. So an earmark of a 5 million dollars to build say a hospital or sewer system or power plant isn't an inherently terrible thing as you take it to be. The $260,000,000,000+ that annually gets earmarked for 'financing the interest on the national deficit' is a pretty terrible one, and yet that's not in the stimulus package you're bitching about...

Second: in a lower tax bracket, but more so because rich motherfuckers hording their wealth and engaging in fewer taxable transactions. Note: the 2008 budget doesn't include TARP which in 2008 'earmarked' $700,000,000,000 for what you'd call the 'Wall Street Bail' out.

It's appropriate to be angry with the federal government, but you should know (specifically) what you're angry at, there is no more (remarkable) reason now to be angry with the federal government than last year or 5 years ago...
