One would have needed to grow up in Harrisville and to have moved away to understand how special your video is... I did, Thanks.

I looked at the other Harrisville video about the same time. They were both very well done. I forwarded links to all present and former Ritchie County natives so they could see what a wonderful job you did.

Thanks for your reply. Growing up in Harrisville was one of my happiest experiences.
It's a pleasure to hear from someone who shares my sentiments.

You are both right. There was a Catholic church in Cairo and one in Pennsboro. Both buildings still exist however the one in Cairo is now another demonination and the one in Pennsboro has been inactive for several years. I have a great grandmother buried in the cemetery in Pennsboro. This is one super video and narrative. I went to Harrisville High School (1957-58) and I still ive within 40 minutes of the town near that infamous Sodom called Parkersburg..

My siblings and i were raised in Harrisville also and we are Catholic. so we are sure the church you spoke of was in Pennsboro WV. as we attended both. Cairo and Pennsboro. Also the remark about Communion was offensive...

I don't want my communion remark to develop into a rancorous debate on religious issues or 1st amendment rights. Our divergent views on Catholicism have each been shaped by a lifetime of influences and experiences. I respect your right to express your ideas and I admire your candor. You may be right about the location of the Catholic church. My recollection is that it was in Cairo. Father Weinheimer was the priest. Details in the photos might identify the location to
local historians.
