Kanjorski: Federal Tax Dollars Are 'Free Money'

12 term Democrat representative Paul Kanjorski - 11th district Pennsylvania - states in this news clip on earmarks that federal tax dollars are free money.

Kanjorski appropriated $5.6 million dollars to build a parking garage at the Kanjorski Center, another taxpayer funded site that cost $3 million, that now sits abandoned for 3 years.

So far little of that $5.6 million has been seen and last word was that the parking garage has been downgraded to a surface parking lot. So where did the rest of the "free money" go?
Kanjorski's seat is up for grabs and being challenged by Hazelton mayor Lou Barletta.

East Stroudsburg University- East Stroudsburg University is the largest institution of higher education in Monroe County, with an enrollment of more than 7,000 students. Since 2003, Congressman Kanjorski has helped secure nearly $4 million for the university. This funding has been used for math and science programs, homebound education, computer security research, the Cyber Crime Center and the partnership with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Wallops Flight Facility.

According to confidential company documents obtained by The Associated Press, Reps. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, and Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., spent the evening in hard-to-obtain seats near the Nationals dugout with Freddie Mac executive Hollis McLoughlin and four of Freddie Mac's in-house lobbyists.
