ECCV Family Violence Prevention Forum

ECCV Womens Committee held the Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities Violence Forum

On 5 August 2009, the ECCV Womens Committee held the Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities Violence Forum, which aimed to redress the growing concern about issues of family violence in CALD communities.

The forum featured a vast array of speakers from government, private and the NGO sector including a key note address by Police Commissioner Simon Overland. The forum was also opened by Hon Robert Hulls MP.

The participants discussed strategies for preventing family violence in CALD communities through interactive breakout sessions in the specific areas of; education, local government, sports and youth and the workplace.
