This endoscope fits into a sterile sheath and then into a dental instrument called an "explorer". When placed into the gumline along with micro ultrasonic instruments, deep cleaning can be done microvisually. This is less invasive than gum surgery which requires cutting the gum and is more thorough than laser treatment because the laser does not clean the tooth.
