Thanks for posting. I am glad the Carpenters were able to export something GOOD about American culture. It grieves me that so much of the world thinks of America in terms of our violent TV images. We are not all Dallas and Reality TV types in this country. Also, very pleased to see the American flag waving on the boat. Thank you, Richard and Karen.

They were, and still are, very much loved in Japan. As it was not easy to get a concert ticket to see them, I am sure they did this commercial for us Japanese fans. Just imagine how happy we were when we saw them on TV more than 30 years ago.
