Painting the 'Carousel'

This time lapse film demonstrates how I create a painting from start to finish. This painting, entitled 'Carousel', based on a carousel stand filled with lollipops is 120x120cm. After selecting a photograph as my source image, you can see how I begin by sketching out first in yellow acrylic paint, followed by a full colour acrylic underpainting, and then the final process of painting in oils, during which all the meticulous detail, and blending work takes place.
