@violist1000 he didn't hate it. he hated the fact that everybody just knew nirvana because of this song and he was sick of playing and hearing this song all over...afterwards, he said that the song was too mainstream because he wanted to make sort of a pixies song

@ftgpete - Hey bro, He had to "please the record label" which im sure he hated.. but both Smells like teen spirit and in utero were good in utero went back to their roots a bit with songs like frances farmer and milk it etc.... it's all Nirvana is all that matters..

@InsertToasterHere Kind of his fault though if people thought they were a pop rock band, didn't he try and make Nevermind as catchy and pop like as he could? Putting emphasis on the melody? I've heard reggage versions of Come as you are and On a Plain and it works well because they have a poppy melody. Don't think you could do reggae songs of any of the bleach songs apart from About a Girl.
