DESIGN
- Finely crafted
- Beautiful Walnut Grain (unique to each ocarina)
- No cord or neckstrap

DURABILITY
- Wooden, so it will survive a fall much better than most clay ocarinas
- Mr. Hind warns against extreme heat or cold, which may warp the wood and ruin the ocarina

WEIGHT
- Extremely light at about 3 ounces (especially when compared to clay ocarinas of same size)

PLAYABILITY
- Fingerings similar to 10 OR 12 hole transverse ocarinas, with two exceptions (Left Pinky is used for one pitch below tonic and each thumbhole plays a semitone)
- Uses same breath pressure for all pitches
- Very sensitive

SOUND
- Rich, Warm Tone (from lowest to highest pitches)
- Pleasant lower octave range
- Not very loud, which is good for those who are sensitive to the louder/higher pitched Alto and Sopranos

Overall, if you're looking for a lower range Ocarina with a beautiful warm tone, the Walnut Tenor would be an excellent choice!

has mr. hind changed his making of this ocarina? i just got mine and the mouthpiece isnt separate like yours. it blend the walnut gran on the top piece
