The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mission Of Captain Mordecai (January 5th 1969) Hanna-Barbera Studios. Featuring Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, Injun Joe, Captain Mordecai.
This episode borrows quite a bit from MOBY DICK: both feature a fanatical whale hunter who has spent forty years of his life tracking an unkillable giant whale.
This Television series was ahead of its time. When I first watch this series was on a chrome -black and white television. At that time it was in its own series, in the city of Los Angeles it aired on NBC on Saturday evening around 6:00pm. Now to see it in its full color version, is fantastic! Thanks for the memories.
This is one of the most memorable episodes for a kid in the third grade. The entire "banana splits" show was quite a production. The other shows on this series were "Danger Island", "The arabian knights", "The three musketeers" and a few others. The "sour grapes" and "dilly sisters" were also regular features.
There were numerous gags and brief skits. Once in a while there would be a musical number and bits of people in B.S. costumes on a swing set or at an amusement park shown in fast forward.
Is there a reason every single villain on this show has a broken chain around his wrist?
